Estepona and the Locality

Hit the beach

Del Cristo is the nicest beach and fortunately also the closest! Turn left out of the apartment building, walk down the main road (you’ll see the beach) to the second roundabout and turn left. It takes 5 mins.

Shopping Centres:

The three main shopping centres along the Costa del Sol are large and modern and have a large wide variety of different types of shops, including hypermarkets, cafés, restaurants, amusement arcade, cinemas and ten pin bowling.

They also have the added advantage that you can find everything you need under one roof and if you are unfamiliar with the Spanish language you can walk about freely and you do not require a phrase book.

All of the shopping centres provide large free car parking and the opening times are normally 10.00 – 22.00 Monday to Saturday and they remain open at lunchtime.

Markets:

Markets are a common sight in towns and villages and are an essential part of Spanish life, largely unaffected by competition from supermarkets and hypermarkets. They are colourful, noisy and entertaining and an experience not to be missed, whether you plan to buy anything or not. A variety of goods are commonly sold in markets, including food, flowers, plants, clothes, shoes, ironmongery, crockery, hardware, linen, ceramics, cassettes, carpets, and leather goods. Markets usually operate from 9.00 am until 14.00 pm

Cinemas

Due to the large number or expatriates living along the coast and also English-speaking visitors, there are several cinemas, which show English version original films (VO). The cinemas are all modern, comfortable and have the added bonus of air-conditioning.

The cinema timetable is printed in the SUR in English newspaper, which is free and distributed along the coast and available from many retail outlets.
